The baroque church of St. Martin was built in 1701-1703 and consecrated in 1704 by the most important donor, Salzburg's Archbishop Jan Ernst Thun-Hohenstein.
Services were held here until 1966. After that, the church fell into disrepair and, like other churches in the area, was to be demolished in 1989, but the Velvet Revolution in 1989 saved it.
However, it was to take several more years before it was really saved. Since the 1980s Marcel Hruby and many volunteers have been committed to the rescue of old churches in Bohemian Switzerland. In the 2000s it was also this one's turn. With the work of many volunteers it was renovated and restored. In 2017 it could be consecrated again, in memory of the original consecration this time by the emeritus Archbishop of Salzburg, Mons. Alois Kothgasser.
Today the church impresses again especially with its rich baroque interior and the wonderful pictorial representations in the windows.
