The house in Naundorf, Saxon Switzerland, in which the Impressionist painter and academy professor Robert Sterl (1867-1932) lived and worked has been preserved in its original state, and has been open to the public as a museum since 1981. With 260 oil paintings and 5,000 drawings as well as graphic works, the museum holds not only the greater part of Sterl's artistic estate but also many personal objects: furniture, works of applied art, photographs and the artist's correspondence. Robert Sterl's studio and the rooms in which he lived can be seen with their original furnishings. The final resting place of Robert Sterl and his wife Helene is in the garden.
